Learning To Relax On The Rhoda

Relaxation should be easy, especially when camping On The Rhoda. Being outside in a lovely place with nothing to do, no place to go and no schedule to keep is a perfect recipe for relaxing... unless you're a lunatic like me.

We are at a wonderful State Park with a beautiful lake. The weather is hot but Rhoda has air conditioning and recliners for when we're inside.

She has a large awning to provide shade and comfy camp chairs to sit in when we're outdoors. I have a wonderful hammock chair that's the perfect spot for knitting, reading or writing a blog. Why is it so hard for me to relax?

I come from a long line of women who find it impossible to relax and do nothing. My Grandmother said we all had ants in our pants but I think the fault lies with genetics not insects or trousers. Sitting down feels like I'm not doing my part; like I'm lazy. But I've worked hard all of my life. I have Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's and survived a heart attack. I've earned the right to chill out. So today I decided to work hard at not working hard or doing anything at all. I am bound and determined to become an accomplished practitioner of the gentle art of relaxation. I will sit more. I will knit and read without feeling guilty. I will take time to absorb and enjoy the beautiful places we visit with Rhoda. So if you see me sitting on my butt studying a gorgeous sunset please know that I am pursuing a higher purpose...having no purpose at all.

I need to learn to relax too! Loved your post about relaxation!
There is peace in silent reflection. You deserve to stop, relax and reflect on what a fabulous, badass woman you are, and how much you are loved. Enjoy those sunsets, and every other moment of relaxation you create.♥️
